Job Description for Patient Care Coordinator

  • Reporting Officer: Assistant Manager Operations
  1. Managing Front Office (including OPD’s, Call Center, PHP Dept. etc.) with an aim of bringing best business to the hospital and maintaining hospital discipline.
  2. Making Admissions as prescribed by Doctor in required room category.
  3. To provide provisional estimate to patient at the time of admission.
  4. Ward Transfer as required by Doctor/Patient.
  5. Provide information about services available in hospital or any other general enquires of patient/attendant/others. For smooth functioning of hospital and other departments.
  6. To maintain official records of the respective department.
  7. Registrations for the OPD Patients as well as for Panel cash Patients.
  8. To Check the Consultant leave status and Appointment list of patients of that day and coordinate with patients.
  9. To make the Private OPD files that includes OPD cards, Smart Card & OPD Schedule and coordination with the consultant.
  10. To receive the internal or external calls and giving them required information or escalating the call to the concerned person / dept.
  11. To fix appointments with Doctors for consultation as well as for PHP.
  12. To check official mail for any information and on-line appointments and reply them as soon as possible.
  13. No personal calls are allowed from hospital extension.
  14. To give feedback calls to OPD patients.
  15. Rotation in other departments as required by HOD/Management.
  16. To give reminder to Doctors and patients for their next day appointment.
  17. To guide the patients for their respective rooms.
  18. To handle enquiries of the patients like Doctor Availability and their timings and guide them for concerned Specialty.
  19. To ensure less waiting time for Private Patients.
  20. To handle grievances of the patients / attendants if any.
  21. Self motivated always and motivate the patient and attendants to re-visit us by giving them a wonderful first and impression.
  22. Informing Patients if any delay in O.P.D consultation.
  23. Co-ordination between Doctor & Patients.
  24. If any investigation is prescribed, to make the bill by OPD Executive.
  25. Regularly attend training initiatives organized by the hospital.
  26. To take next appointments of the Patients for respective doctor they want to consult.
  27. Any Additional responsibility given to you by HOD / Management.
